A note from Pet Published
Pet Published Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
Pet Published makes books from meaningful stories, starting with Nosy Rosie. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who helps us handle it, and what you can do about it.
The short version: we collect only what you choose to send us and the basic technical information needed to run and protect the website. We never sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we are
This website is run by Skyler Kelly doing business as Pet Published, a sole proprietorship based in Boca Raton, Florida. In this policy, "we," "us" and "our" mean Pet Published.
The easiest way to reach us about anything in this policy is by email at PetPublished@gmail.com.
What this website does today
This website tells you about our books and our custom book creation services, and gives you ways to get in touch. Today:
- You can read about Nosy Rosie and follow a link to buy it on Amazon.
- You can learn about custom pet books and other book projects.
- You can email us at PetPublished@gmail.com. Our inquiry and contact forms are not open yet, so for now email is the way to reach us.
- There are no accounts or logins, no online payments, no saved quotes, and no way to upload files or photographs.
If any of that changes, we will update this policy before the new feature goes live.
What we collect
Emails you send us
When you email us, we receive whatever you choose to include: usually your name, your email address and your message, plus anything you attach. If you're asking about a custom pet book, that might include your pet's name, personality and story ideas. We're always happy to hear about your pet!
Project inquiry form
Our project inquiry form is not open yet. While it is closed, nothing you type into it is sent or saved. When it opens, it will ask for:
- Your name and email address.
- A pet type, if you choose to give one.
- The description of your book idea that you type.
- A tick in a box saying we may use these details to reply to you.
We will use these details only to read your inquiry and reply to you. The form will email your inquiry to us through our email delivery service, Resend. This website does not store your inquiry in a database. It will exist in our email inbox and in Resend's delivery records.
The website's code also includes a longer, step-by-step project questionnaire. It is switched off and is not offered to visitors. We will update this policy before it is ever switched on.
Contact form
Our contact form is also not open yet, and nothing typed into it is sent or saved. When it opens, it will ask for your name, your email address, your message, and a tick in a box saying we may use these details to reply to you. It will work the same way as the project inquiry form: emailed to us through Resend and not stored in a database by this website.
Newsletter signup (only if we switch it on)
We don't offer a newsletter yet. If we add a signup, it will ask for your email address and a tick in a box agreeing to receive emails about Pet Published books and news. Your details will be held by our email-list provider, MailerLite, not by this website, and every newsletter will include an unsubscribe link.
Emailing us, or sending an inquiry or contact message, never subscribes you to the newsletter, and we do not use those details for marketing.
Booking a consultation (only if we switch it on)
If we add a booking button, it will take you to Cal.com, which collects your name, email address and booking details under its own privacy policy. We do not collect those details on this website.
Buying the book
The "Buy on Amazon" button takes you to Amazon, where your purchase is handled under Amazon's own privacy policy. We don't receive your name, address or payment details from Amazon. When you click the button, we only count the click and note which button was used (see "Visiting the website").
Spam protection
When our forms open, they will use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell real people from automated programs. When you use a form, Turnstile runs a quick check in your browser, and Cloudflare receives technical signals such as your IP address, your browser type and details about your browser environment. Turnstile does not read what you type into the form, and Cloudflare uses these signals only to detect and block bots.
Visiting the website
- Hosting. Our website is hosted by Vercel. Like most websites, Vercel keeps server logs of requests, such as your IP address, your browser type and the page you asked for. The log lines written by our own code contain only a status code, a reference number like PP-1A2B3C4D, or the name of the button that was clicked. They never contain your name, email address or message.
- Analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the website is used. It counts page views and a few events: a click on the Amazon button, a click on the consultation link, an inquiry that was delivered (we record only the type of project, never its contents), and a newsletter signup that was confirmed. Each event carries a short label from a fixed list and never a name, email address or message. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies. It may record general details such as the page visited, the referring site, your country or region, and your device and browser type, and it does not track you across other websites.
- Abuse limits. To slow down abuse, our server briefly remembers the IP address of each form request for about ten minutes. It is held in memory only, is not saved anywhere, and is cleared when the server restarts.
What we do not collect
Through this website we do not collect payment details, files, photographs, manuscripts or a child's personal information, and we do not ask you to create an account or a password. Please do not include any of these in a form. If we ever need a photo of your pet for a custom book, we'll explain how it will be used, and update this policy, before we ask for one.
Why we use your information
- To read your email, inquiry or message and reply to you.
- To talk with you about a book project you've asked us about.
- To send the newsletter you signed up for, if we offer one.
- To keep our website and forms secure and free of spam.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the website is used, so we can improve it.
We do not use your information for anything else without asking you first.
No marketing without your say-so
An inquiry or a contact message never subscribes you to anything. Emailing us doesn't either. You will only get our newsletter if you separately sign up for it.
We never sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Who handles your information for us
We share information only with the service providers we need to run this website and reply to you, and only what each one needs to do its job. They handle it on our behalf.
| Provider | What it does | Information involved |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosts the website, keeps server logs and provides Web Analytics | Request details such as your IP address and browser type, and the analytics described above |
| Gmail (Google) | Our email inbox, where we receive and answer your emails | Your name, email address and whatever you write or attach |
| Resend (once our forms open) | Delivers form inquiries and messages to our inbox by email | Your name, email address and what you typed |
| Cloudflare (Turnstile) (once our forms open) | Checks that a form is used by a person | Your IP address and browser signals |
| MailerLite (only if the newsletter is switched on) | Holds the newsletter list and sends the newsletter | Your email address, the time you signed up and your consent |
| Cal.com (only if booking is switched on) | Schedules consultations on its own page | What you enter on its page |
We may also share information if the law requires it, or if it's needed to protect the safety of our customers, the public or our business.
Our service providers may process information in the United States and in other countries where they operate.
Links to other websites and social media
Our website links to other sites, such as Amazon and our profiles on Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we don't control how they collect or use information. If you follow, message or comment on us there, that platform's policy applies. Please don't send us private details in public comments.
How long we keep it
We keep information only as long as we need it:
- Emails, inquiries and messages. We keep them for up to two years after our last conversation with you, then delete them, unless you've asked us to delete them sooner or we need to keep them longer for a project you've started with us.
- Email delivery records. Once our forms open, Resend keeps short-lived delivery records for a limited period set by Resend.
- Server logs. Vercel keeps hosting logs for a limited period set by Vercel.
- Analytics. Analytics are kept as aggregated statistics that don't identify you. Vercel discards the short-term visitor identifier after 24 hours.
- Newsletter list (if we offer one). We keep your email address while you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep only what's needed to make sure you don't get emails again.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us:
- What information we hold about you.
- To correct it.
- To delete it.
- To stop sending you any marketing emails.
To make a request, email PetPublished@gmail.com. There is no account or self-service tool, so we do this by hand: we'll search our inbox and our service providers' records and get back to you within 30 days. We may need to confirm that the request really comes from you before acting on it.
You can unsubscribe from our newsletter, if we offer one, at any time with the link in any newsletter email.
Depending on where you live, you may have other privacy rights under local law. We're happy to honor these requests wherever you live, and we will never treat you differently for making one.
Cookies and similar technologies
This website sets no cookies of its own and does not use your browser's local storage.
Vercel Web Analytics works without cookies. When our forms open, Cloudflare Turnstile may use temporary browser storage that is strictly needed for its bot check, never for advertising or tracking.
We do not use advertising trackers.
Children
Our books are made for families and kids, but this website and its forms are meant for adults: parents, grandparents, pet lovers and other grown-ups. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and our forms are meant only for people 18 and older. Custom pet book inquiries come from adults telling us about their pets, and details about your pet are always welcome.
Please do not send us a child's personal details. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We're a small, growing business, and we'll update this policy as we add new features. If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change is important, we'll also post a notice on the website before it takes effect, and where we have your email address and the change affects you, we'll let you know by email.
